Ontario - coding is finally here!

Ontario's new math curriculum to introduce coding, personal finance starting in Grade 1

What does that mean for Ontario parents?

Throughout grades one to eight, children will learn concepts related to coding for the first time.

This is great news for parents who have not yet formally introduced their students to coding through extracurricular activities. However, as the NDP education critic pointed out, for some parents who are already struggling through the pandemic or who want their kids to get ahead, rolling this out in September could be the perfect storm as we try to deal with the pandemic.

“Dropping a new math curriculum during the middle of a pandemic is completely irresponsible,” NDP education critic Marit Stiles said Tuesday. “Not only has the Minister of Education failed to properly consult educators and parents about the new curriculum, he has not bothered to consider the additional burden this will cause for teachers, and for parents who are already struggling to help their children learn from home.”

The good news is, you have support! The summer is the perfect time to introduce your kids to coding ahead of the new school year!

Get ahead this summer with either daily or weekly classes so that your child can enter school in the fall with all the confidence they need to succeed in the new curriculum.

Let's keep our kids competitive on a global scale!

Our virtual classes will also carry over into the school year as students may still need support during the school year as well. Book your coding class now!
